Postcards from Watts Hospital

The North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM) is located in west Durham on the northwest corner of West Club Blvd. and Broad Street. NCSSM is situated in the shell of what was once Durham's finest medical care facility, Watts Hospital. This is the second location of Watts Hospital, the first being on the corner of Buchanan Blvd. and Main Street. The hospital's history is chronicled in the wonderful book Watts Hospital of Durham, North Carolina, 1895 ~ 1976: Keeping the Doors Open by Dr. P. Preston Reynolds (1991).
